Leeds United defender Liam Cooper received a late call-up to the Scotland squad on Sunday night, and his fans could not be happier.
It has been a positive few days for the 25-year-old, who was drafted into Gordon Strachan’s setup after an impressive performance for Leeds on Saturday.
Cooper played an important role in helping Garry Monk’s side claim a 2-0 triumph over fellow Premier League promotion chasers Brighton at Elland Road.
The defender has only been included in the Scotland squad once before, which was around a year ago, but he did not make an appearance in the team’s 1-0 win over Denmark.
Cooper has been given a chance to make his senior international debut in upcoming games against Canada and Slovenia on home soil.

The late call-up came as a result go Matt Phillips, James McArthur and Grant Hanley all withdrawing.
Most club fans tend to feel slightly uneasy when one of their players is called up for international duty due to fears of injuries, but after Leeds tweeted the news about Cooper’s inclusion in the Scotland squad, fans were quick to congratulate him.
