Leeds United fans have been calling on the club all summer to sign Kyle Bartley on a permanent basis.

The defender spent last season on loan at Elland Road from Swansea City, and he impressed as the club narrowly missed out on a playoff spot in the Championship.

After his temporary spell came to an end, Leeds fans have regularly taken to social media to express their desire for a permanent deal.

However, the Whites had Swansea's former manager Garry Monk at the helm in the 2016-17 campaign, and now Thomas Christiansen is in charge.

With that being said, it is fair to argue that Leeds would have had a better chance of signing Bartley if Monk was still at the club due to the pair's previous time working together.

It is unclear whether the 26-year-old centre-back will become one of Christiansen's signings, but the fans are itching for him to return, particularly after watching the club's league opener on Sunday.

Leeds managed to beat Bolton Wanderers 3-2, but it was a tense finish as their opponents came from behind on two occasions.
