Leeds United moved to the top of the Championship standings as their fine start to the season continued with a 2-0 win against Birmingham City at Elland Road on Tuesday night, and Whites fans were full of praise for Pontus Jansson following another impressive performance.

The Yorkshire outfit signed the centre-back on a permanent deal earlier this year after he impressed during a season-long loan spell last term, and the 26-year-old has also started the current campaign in brilliant form.

The Sweden international missed the 3-2 win against Bolton Wanderers on the opening day through suspension but since returning to the starting line-up for the following match against Preston North End, Thomas Christiansen’s men have taken 14 points from a possible 18 available without conceding a goal.

Jansson certainly played a big role in the latest success against Birmingham as he dealt with the aerial presence of Blues striker Sam Gallagher.

Leeds supporters were quick to have their say on the defender's showing via social media, with one person even saying that he was "the difference between a win and a draw".
