Leeds United summer signing Mateusz Klich is yet to start in the Championship this season, but he has made a significant impression in the EFL Cup to put himself in contention in the league, and Whites fans are predicting big things from the midfielder.

The 27-year-old was affected by injury when he first moved to Elland Road from FC Twente in June, but his impressive performance in the win against Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday night – where he also showed great composure to convert his spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out – proved that he can have a significant impact for the current Championship leaders this term.

Eunan O'Kane and Kalvin Phillips have been Thomas Christiansen's preferred central midfield partnership to date, but that could change following their first league defeat of the campaign against Millwall last weekend.

Leeds supporters were quick to have their say on the Poland international via social media, with some even going as far as saying he 'will prove to be the club's best central midfielder in time'.
