Leeds United supporters have taken to Twitter to give their verdicts on rumours that the club will need to pay £5m in order to re-sign Jonny Howson.
The midfielder is currently plying his trade at Norwich City, but he is heavily associated with Leeds given that he came through the club’s academy.
After making his debut for the Whites in 2006, Howson went on to feature in 225 first-team matches, and called an end to his Leeds career in 2012 when he signed for Norwich.
It seems as though that the Canaries are willing to let go of the 29-year-old as the Daily Mail reports that the Championship outfit will consider bids, but only in the region of £5m.
After hearing the news, Leeds fans deliberated over whether the club should seal the deal or not, with some desperate to see their former captain return, while others would prefer to focus on other targets.
To be honest I'd rather the 5 million was put towards bringing Bartley back than bringing Howson back to @LUFC not an opinion shared by all.

Really surprised by how many people don't want Howson back #lufc

A few years ago I would have loved Howson back at #LUFC but now? How many midfielders do we need. How about another CF and 2 X CB first.

I don't want Howson back. A mid level championship player at best. Sold out when we needed him the most. Bollocks to him #lufc

Bringing Howson back would be a massive sign of intent and a start to righting the wrongs of previous regimes #lufc

Spending £5m on Howson is ok if we have a bottomless pit of cash. If not then use it to BUY BARTLEY. He'll make the difference #lufc

People are complaining about Howson, 5m for possibly one of the best midfielders in the championship! Yeah that's over priced…….? #lufc

So Howson defo available then. Just go get him. If means gettin rid of Phillips, O'kane and bridcutt then so be it #lufc

Howson would no doubt be a good signing, but not for £5mill. Rather use that to get Bartley here permanently. #lufc

New head coach Thomas Christiansen has only just begun shaping his squad for the new season after he was appointed as Garry Monk’s successor.
His first signing was made last week when he secured the signature of Mateusz Klich on a three-year deal from FC Twente.
