Leeds United supporters have taken to Twitter to give their verdicts on rumours that the club will need to pay £5m in order to re-sign Jonny Howson.

The midfielder is currently plying his trade at Norwich City, but he is heavily associated with Leeds given that he came through the club’s academy.

After making his debut for the Whites in 2006, Howson went on to feature in 225 first-team matches, and called an end to his Leeds career in 2012 when he signed for Norwich.

It seems as though that the Canaries are willing to let go of the 29-year-old as the Daily Mail reports that the Championship outfit will consider bids, but only in the region of £5m.

After hearing the news, Leeds fans deliberated over whether the club should seal the deal or not, with some desperate to see their former captain return, while others would prefer to focus on other targets.

New head coach Thomas Christiansen has only just begun shaping his squad for the new season after he was appointed as Garry Monk’s successor.

His first signing was made last week when he secured the signature of Mateusz Klich on a three-year deal from FC Twente.
