Leeds United fans slam Luke Ayling after Derby County defeat

Leeds United suffered their sixth defeat in their last eight Championship matches as they were beaten 2-1 by Derby County at Elland Road on Tuesday night, and Whites fans weren’t impressed with Luke Ayling’s performance.

The right-back, who was captaining the side in the absence of the injured Liam Cooper, was one of their standout players in the early stages of the campaign, but his performances have dropped off in recent weeks.

The 26-year-old was certainly at fault for the Rams’ equalising goal from Sam Winnall when he was caught completely out of position, and it was the striker that sealed the win from the penalty spot in the 80th minute after Pierre-Michel Lasogga had given the Yorkshire outfit an early lead.

Leeds supporters were quick to have their say on his showing via social media, and while some described his display as “God awful”, others said he is ‘costing us points’.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
