As reported by The Daily Mirror, Leeds United are lining up a sensational move for Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo this summer.

The Spaniard, who spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, is said to be available and although the likes of Swansea City are also interested, Leeds are ready to throw their hat in the ring.

It's not often the Elland Road side are linked with players of such quality but highlights there's an ambition at the club ahead of next season, as they hope they can build upon narrowly missing out on the promotion play-offs last term.

Negredo has played at the highest levels of the game and has shown good goalscoring form at the likes of Sevilla and Manchester City in the past.

He is also well-utilised as a focal point spearheading attacking lines and can bring his teammates into the final third running off him, his skill with the ball at his feet beyond most in the Championship.

It's certainly a link that has excited Leeds United supporters and they took to Twitter this weekend to share their thoughts on it all...
