Leeds United lose Championship top spot, fans react

Leeds United hit a stumbling block in their Championship campaign when they lost to Cardiff City on Tuesday night.

The Whites faced Neil Warnock’s team in Wales knowing that a defeat would knock them off the top spot of the league table.

Thomas Christiansen’s side had only lost one of their nine Championship games prior to the midweek trip, but they were unable to overcome Cardiff.

The Yorkshire outfit went 2-0 down before half-time and they suffered another blow shortly after the hour mark when Kenneth Zohore nabbed his second goal.

Kemar Roofe got on the scoresheet for Leeds with 23 minutes left to play, but it was not enough to lead a comeback and Christiansen’s team had to accept defeat.

As expected, plenty of fans were disappointed in the result, but others are looking at the outcome from a realistic viewpoint.

Leeds currently sit second in the table, three points adrift of Cardiff and three points inside the promotion and playoff places.
