Leeds United star’s mum wades in on Twitter Q&A

Plenty of football clubs give fans the chance to get closer to the players in a number of ways, one of which is a classic Twitter question and answer session.

Leeds United reached out to their supporters earlier this week ahead of an interview with Kyle Bartley.

So often, things of this nature can go very wrong, with rival fans chiming in and others asking bizarre or amusing questions.

In this instance there was plenty of humour, particularly when Bartley’s own mother added her request to the list.

Maria Bartley basically suggested to Leeds fans that her 25-year-old son either has poor mobile phone service or tries to come up with excuses to cut a call short.

Bartley probably would have preferred his mother to ask this question privately as opposed to tweeting it to Leeds’ 262,000 followers.

Not only did the Championship club’s Q&A requests turn into a family affair, plenty of supporters focused on Bartley’s close relationship with teammate Luke Ayling.

The pair have been friends for a decade and even live together with their girlfriends.

Ayling missed the midweek 1-1 draw with Fulham due to the birth of his baby daughter, and fans have used that milestone to tease Bartley.
