Like so many games before, all eyes were on Wayne Rooney at Old Trafford on Sunday, but this time there was a different reason why.Rather than line up for Manchester United, it was the first time that the former England international faced the Red Devils since leaving the club in the summer. The 31-year-old rejoined his boyhood club Everton, and at the weekend led the line for the Toffees on away turf.It was a reunion to forget for Rooney in terms of the result, as the Toffees were beaten 4-0, but he did receive a warm reception from the United following.Everton seemed to have contained Jose Mourinho's side for the most part after going a goal down inside the first five minutes, but late in the second half, United ran riot.Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial all scored within the final eight minutes of the encounter, and the floodgates opened shortly after Rooney was substituted. After the final whistle, Match of the Day host Gary Lineker joked on Twitter that out of respect for their former captain, United held off until Rooney was hauled off the pitch.
