Gary Lineker has poked fun at Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez after his theatrics in Wednesday night's 1-0 win over Leicester City.

Every football fan braces themselves for some over-the-top dives when they watch a game as it has sadly become a common part of the sport.

However, Sanchez took it to another level in midweek when he went to ground clutching his face after Christian Fuchs hit him with his throw-in.

The Leicester left-back was visibly frustrated by how close the Chile international was standing to the line, and ended up flinging the ball at Sanchez's shoulder.

A few seconds went by before the former Barcelona star fell to the ground holding his face.

It did look as though Fuchs deliberately aimed the ball at his opponent, but not many people had sympathy for Sanchez, who made matters worse for himself by tweeting a selfie of his apparent swollen lip.

Match of the Day host Lineker, who spent seven years playing for Leicester, was one of the viewers who was unimpressed with the Arsenal star's antics, and he reacted with a tongue-in-cheek tweet.
