Liverpool ensured that they would play Champions League football during the 2017-18 campaign after recording a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Indeed, the three-goal success at Anfield saw Liverpool pip Arsenal to fourth position as the Gunners missed out on a spot in the Champions League for the first time under the stewardship of Arsene Wenger.
Having finished sixth and eighth in the last two Premier League campaigns, Jurgen Klopp has managed to lead the Reds back into Europe’s elite competition.
Liverpool’s season was not without its bumps and bruises as they struggled to break down a number of the so-called lesser teams in the Premier League, but a total of 76 points was ultimately enough to finish inside the top four for the first time since 2014.
On Monday, Liverpool’s official Twitter account posted a caption of Klopp’s comments towards the Champions League, and supporters of the Merseyside outfit reacted with glee at the club’s return to top-level European competition.
