Liverpool, like the rest of the Premier League’s top-six clubs, have remained quiet in the transfer window but there could be movement on Deadline Day, with Mamadou Sakho potentially moving to join Crystal Palace.
The French defender has not featured for the Reds since last April, where a UEFA ban ended his season prematurely before being later overturned, and a clash with Jurgen Klopp over the summer has left him on the fringes.
Liverpool are keen to offload the player before the window slams shut tonight but are standing firm on their demands of £20m, a figure that interested parties, like Crystal Palace, may struggle to meet so late in the transfer window.
However, whilst the club are happy to wave goodbye to Sakho, many fans have a different point of view entirely and don’t think this deal would be good for the club.
@thisisanfield awful decision to 1 not play Sakho when Matip was out and 2 now to sell him without getting anyone else in

If we sell Sakho, then Liverpool is a finished club

I doubt we'll actually sell Sakho. Palace are just being tight, especially considering they spent £12m on Schlupp and £10m on Van Aanholt.

klopp's biggest mistake!! dont sell mama sakho pls hmmm

Surely if we cant sell Sakho today, its better to keep him than loan him out. He's a good player and a leader. Time to kiss and make up #lfc

This could be a historic day for my beloved #LFC. If we sell Sakho, we must be certainties to win the NET spend league! Exciting times.

We are going to sell Sakho & sign nobody with a squad on its knees physically, very, very brave! Serious spend required this summer #LFC

If we sell Sakho tomorrow for £20 million and with nearly £4 million for Ilori , will be successful window for FSG and their shareholders
— John O Sullivan (@Corballyred) January 30, 2017
Rather we didn't sell Sakho tomorrow, purely because we won't spend the money anyway, and rather have him around just incase.
