After drawing their opening fixture away to Watford last weekend, it’s vitally important that Liverpool make a statement in their 3pm kick-off against Crystal Palace this afternoon.
While their attacking prowess was not in doubt in London, the same old defensive frailties were on show and the 3-3 draw did little to make fans especially optimistic about the season ahead.
With UEFA Champions League matches last week and next week, Jurgen Klopp has rotated the team in some areas and at left-back new signing Andrew Robertson will make his debut.

Robertson joined from Hull City in July for a reported £10m fee but fans have not yet had the chance to see what he can do at the start of the season.
The left-back position has been a notorious problem for the Reds for a while now and supporters will be hoping Scottish international Robertson can prove to be the answer ahead of Alberto Moreno and James Milner.
Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on him being in the team this afternoon…
Hopefully Sturridge and Robertson take advantage of this opportunity. Front 3 is strong. Fingers crossed about defending. #LFC

Thought the line up would've been weaker but a very decent team actually, good to have Robertson at LB and Lovren rested/dropped. COYR! #LFC

I'm actually excited to see if Andy Robertson can defend better than Moreno. If not, Milner…you going back to Left Back

Heavily rotated Liverpool XI. Excited to see Gomez and Robertson at full back. Not looking forward to see Klavan give away goals.

Please let this be a sin if the end for Moreno 🙏
Hope Robertson and Gomez prove their worth
