To say Liverpool’s chances of victory were inherently linked with Sadio Mane’s ability to stay fit last season would be a bit of an understatement. The Reds didn’t win a Premier League fixture without their dynamic attacker until April and their overall win rate in his absence dropped by a staggering 26%.
Liverpool haven’t fared too well without the Senegal star this term either; after he was sent off against Manchester City, they capitulated at the Eithad Stadium and eventually lost 5-0. The following Premier League fixtures of his three-game suspension, meanwhile, saw the Reds draw with Burnley at home and narrowly scrape a win over Leicester.
Rather worryingly for fans of the Anfield outfit, then, James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo recently revealed on Twitter that Mane will be sidelined for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury picked up on international duty – something BBC Sport have since confirmed.
Massive blow for the Reds. Sadio Mane sidelined for up to 6 weeks with a hamstring injury #LFC

Season is imploding big style with the lack of investment from FSG in crucial areas means that that is a MASSIVE blow.
