Liverpool’s hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League received a huge boost on Sunday as their top four rivals all dropped points.
The Reds’ 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace at Anfield last weekend looked to have dented their chances but it has turned out to be a good weekend for Jurgen Klopp’s men ahead of their trip to Watford on Monday night.
Everton and Arsenal were beaten by title rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, while Manchester United and Manchester City were held by relegation battlers Swansea City and Middlesbrough respectively, meaning that the Merseyside outfit’s top four fate is now in their own hands.
Liverpool supporters were quick to have their say on the positive results via social media, but they are scared that they could bottle the opportunity they have been given by dropping points against the Hornets.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
#LFC fans today are happy tomorrow will be crying.
