Liverpool drew 2-2 with Sevilla in their opening Champions League group game at Anfield on Wednesday night, and Reds fans were furious with defender Dejan Lovren for his latest below-par performance.
The centre-back returned to the starting line-up in place of Ragnar Klavan following Jurgen Klopp's men's 5-0 defeat against Manchester City on Saturday, but he was at fault for the La Liga outfit's fifth-minute opener.
The Croatia international looked certain to clear Sergio Escudero’s low cross from the left, but he fell over and the ball went under his foot with Wissam Ben Yedder on hand to tap home.
The hosts regained control of the game through goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, but the Brazilian missed the chance to give his team a two-goal advantage when he missed a penalty just before the break.
Questionable defending from Lovren and centre-back partner Joel Matip saw Joaquin Correa score the equaliser and Liverpool supporters were quick to have their say on the former's poor performance via social media, with some saying the time is now surely up on his career with the Merseyside outfit.
