Liverpool fans slam Roberto Firmino after Man United draw

Liverpool’s disappointing run of form continued as they played out a goalless draw against arch-rivals Manchester United at Anfield on Saturday, and Reds fans weren’t impressed with Roberto Firmino’s contribution.

The 0-0 result against the Red Devils means that Jurgen Klopp’s men have now just won one of their last eight matches in all competitions, but they will certainly be ruing their missed chances.

Joel Matip saw his close-range effort brilliantly saved by David De Gea and even though the hosts had 19 shots at goal, they couldn’t find a way past the Spaniard.

Firmino once again started in the centre-forward role with Daniel Sturridge on the substitutes’ bench despite the fact that he was away playing for Brazil during the week, but he was unable to find a breakthrough and has now gone five Premier League matches without a goal.

Liverpool supporters were quick to have their say on his performance via social media, and while some described his showing as “dire”, others said he has been “cruising for weeks” and “needs dropping”.
