Liverpool fans unhappy following Southampton draw

Liverpool have only won one of their last three Premier League matches, but the Reds are currently in a strong position to secure a top-four position in the final weeks of the campaign.

Indeed, five points separate third-place Liverpool from fifth-place Manchester United, although the Red Devils, who appear firmly focused on the Europa League, do have a game in hand.

Liverpool stuttered again at the weekend when they were held to a goalless draw by Southampton at Anfield, with the Merseyside outfit again showing their inconsistency against the so-called smaller clubs in the division.

Vice-captain James Milner had the chance to win it for Liverpool from the penalty spot in the second period, but the former England international was denied by a smart save from Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

On Monday afternoon, Liverpool’s official Twitter account posted a message from Milner ahead of the team’s final two Premier League fixtures, and there were some fans that decided to air their frustrations following another disappointing result.

There is no question that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp would have been delighted with a top-four finish at the start of the season, but Liverpool’s inability to challenge London duo Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea higher up the table does appear to have left the supporters wanting more.
