According to reports in French publication L’Equipe, via Football365, Paris Saint-Germain attacker Julian Draxler has been told that he is no longer part of manager Unai Emery’s plans, despite only moving to the French capital during the January transfer window.
While the forward went on to make 26 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants, Football365 says that Emery has told the Germany international that he is no longer guaranteed to be a part of their match-day squad, with the arrival of Neymar from Barcelona pushing the 23-year-old further down the pecking order.
Football365 says that Arsenal have been linked in the past but it is their Premier League rivals Liverpool that could show an interest now with Philippe Coutinho continuing to be linked with a move to Barcelona – ironically, to replace Neymar.
Liverpool supporters were quick to have their say on the update on Draxler’s future via social media, and while some want the Reds to splash out £60m to ensure that they bring him to Anfield, others feel that he is the “ideal Coutinho replacement”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
We missed on Draxler who joined PSG. And now that he is available again we should sign him this season.#LFC
