Liverpool have been linked to Borussia Monchengladbach star Mahmoud Dahoud yet again, but now they reportedly face competition to sign him.
According to Footmercato, Spanish giants Barcelona are pondering a move for the Germany Under-21 international, who broke through the Gladbach side in 2014.
The Daily Star reports that the Merseyside outfit will wait until the summer to try to strike a deal.
The midfielder has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season, and has one goal and two assists to his name.
Liverpool have not done any transfer business this month yet, and it is uncertain whether manager Jurgen Klopp will dip into the market at all.
The club have dropped seven points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea, but with four months left in the season, they remain in the title hunt.
Some fans believe that the Reds should move for Dahoud now in order to prevent other suitors from swooping in.
Get Dahoud please @LFC

Dahoud's strengths remind me of a young Steven Gerrard. Slick in passing, shooting etc. Talented.https://t.co/gJurzRYaA0
