Liverpool supporters pine for return of £22.5m-rated midfielder

Adam Lallana is yet to represent Liverpool this season after picking up a thigh problem during the club’s preparations for the 2017-18 campaign.

The 29-year-old has stepped up his recovery over the last week, but it will surely take time for the Englishman to get up to speed in terms of full match sharpness having not completed a full pre-season.

Liverpool have not had too many problems scoring goals this season, but they have missed that touch of creativity during periods of certain matches, and there is no question that Lallana’s qualities has been missed.

Indeed, the former Southampton captain, who is rated at £22.5m by transfermarkt.co.uk, contributed eight goals in 35 appearances for the Reds last term, and seems to have found his feet at Liverpool over the last 12 months.

On Wednesday, Liverpool’s official Twitter account posted a video tribute to Lallana, who scored his first goal for the club on October 4, 2014.

Unsurprisingly, the post brought a strong reaction from the club’s fanbase, who are desperate for the attacker to return to the field sooner rather than later.
