According to reports from Mirror Football, Liverpool are closing in on the signing of £25million-rated Burnley defender Michael Keane.
The young centre-back has enjoyed a fantastic season; playing a pivotal role in Burnley’s successful survival bid, earning his first England caps in March and receiving a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
Accordingly, rumours of the 24-year-old leaving Turf Moor for a bigger club have been rife throughout the season and Mirror Football now claim personal terms have been agreed in principle to bring him to Anfield – but the potential £25million transfer could hinge on whether third-place Liverpool qualify for the Champions League.
However, Keane received his footballing education with Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United, leaving Old Trafford for Burnley in 2014, and Red Devils fans on Twitter have had their say on the Liverpool transfer update.
Whilst some believe he’d be a poor signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side, others are simply mocking the suggestion that their ex-youngster would join Liverpool…

@MirrorFootball I don’t think he is good enough for either team.

Michael Keane would be such a Liverpool-esque signing imo. Can’t tolerate another English CB being bought because of one good season. #MUFC
