According to reports in The Mirror, Manchester United winger Ashley Young looks set to reject interest from Premier League rivals Stoke City and see out the last year of his Red Devils contract.

The Mirror says that the 32-year-old, who is currently injured, was expected to leave Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho won't hand the versatile star a new deal, with Potters manager Mark Hughes keen to bring him to the Britannia Stadium.

However, Young could choose to stay and it would be a decision that would be backed by Mourinho, with the report adding that the Portuguese boss admires the former Villa man’s versatility as he can play on either side of midfield and defence.

United supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and they were divided with their opinions.

While some feel he is “underappreciated”, others believe it is time to sell him for what would likely be a cut-price fee.
