There is little doubting that Eric Bailly has endeared himself to the Manchester United supporters after impressing during his first season at Old Trafford.

The Ivory Coast international moved to the 20-time English champions from Spanish outfit Villarreal last summer, and it did not take him long to become an important member of Jose Mourinho's back-line at the club.

Injuries to Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have meant that Bailly, and indeed Marcos Rojo, have had to play a lot of football in recent weeks, but the centre-back's performances have not suffered despite a lack of rest.

Bailly was again impressive in Man United's Europa League quarter-final second leg on Thursday night, with the 23-year-old making a number of important challenges during his team's progression into the final four of the competition.

After the match, Bailly took to Twitter to reveal his delight at progressing into the last four of the European tournament, and Man United's supporters showed exactly what they thought about him with a series of tweets.

It is never easy coming into the Premier League from a foreign division, especially as a centre-back, but Bailly's performances throughout the 2016-17 campaign have already led to comparisons with former Red Devils captain Nemanja Vidic.
