According to reports in the Daily Mail, Manchester United have been told by Tottenham Hotspur that their transfer target Eric Dier is not for sale at any price, despite The Telegraph reporting on Friday that they would listen to offers in the region of £50m.
The Red Devils are said to have held a long-term interest in the versatile 23-year-old, but after registering their interest in the England international earlier this year, they were told that he was not available, according to the Daily Mail.
Dier has certainly become a key player for Spurs during the course of the last three seasons, and he has shown that he is equally comfortable playing as a centre-back as he is in central or defensive midfield.
United supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and the majority were relieved that they wouldn’t be signing a “bang average” player.
