Jesse Lingard has been at Manchester United since the age of seven – progressing through the youth system before making his first-team debut in 2011.
The 24-year-old is fast closing on 100 first-team appearances for the Red Devils, and he has proved his worth in big matches over the last couple of seasons.
It would be fair to say that the England international is still trying to win over the majority of Man United fans, however, with many believing that the attacker, although talented, does not have the credentials to become a star at Old Trafford.
Lingard has struggled for minutes in the early stages of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign, and he was only given the final six minutes of Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Stoke City.
Indeed, Lingard was the third Man United player off the bench at the Britannia Stadium, but the substitution, which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan replaced, did not go down well with the club’s supporters.
