Man United supporters pay tribute to Herrera

Tipped as a potential future captain of Manchester United, Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera has developed into a key player for the Red Devils over the last 12 months.

Herrera did not start Man United’s Premier League opener against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, but he is expected to play a key role in Jose Mourinho’s side this season.

The midfielder might look like a teenager, but he turned 28 on Monday, and as expected, there was a birthday message waiting for him on Man United’s official Twitter page.

It would be fair to say that Herrera is one of his club’s most popular players with the supporters, and the response section was flooded with praise for the Spain international.

The arrival of Nemanja Matic will make it more difficult for Herrera to feature on a week-to-week basis, but with the sheer volume of games this season, there is no doubt that the former Athletic Bilbao midfielder will play plenty of football during the 2017-18 campaign.
