A 1-0 victory for Manchester United on Wednesday night meant that Jose Mourinho’s men hold a 100% start to the Champions league campaign, with three group games remaining.
It wasn’t the Red Devils finest display upon taking the field in Lisbon, with star man Romelu Lukaku among those offering very little offensively. However, the imposing Belgian striker was lauded for his actions after the final whistle.
With the only goal of the game coming from a bizarre error from Benfica’s teenage ‘keeper Mile Svilar, Lukaku was quick to find his compatriot at the end of the game and offer him some words of encouragement. While it is not known what was said between the two Belgians, it is clear that Lukaku was ensuring young Svilar that he can bounce back from the mistake.
