Manchester United maintained their impressive start to the season as they beat Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday to go joint-top of the Premier League standings with rivals Manchester City, but Red Devils fans were not impressed with Jesse Lingard's performance.

Despite Antonio Valencia giving Jose Mourinho's side an early lead with a thunderous strike, the hosts struggled to find a second goal as the Merseyside outfit started to come back into the clash and the Portuguese boss decided to introduce Lingard from the substitutes' bench on the hour-mark.

While the 24-year-old set Romelu Lukaku up for the third goal and was unlucky not to win a penalty himself, he still appears to be struggling to win over some of the Old Trafford faithful.

Man United supporters were quick to have their say on his performance via social media, and while some described him as "useless", others said that watching him play is "so painful".
