Anthony Martial has struggled to build upon his impressive first season at Manchester United, as the arrivals of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the summer have handed him a wealth of competition.Starting just one Premier League match in 2017, and remaining as an unused substitute in each of United's last two games, speculation has risen to suggest that the former Monaco man, signed by Louis Van Gaal in 2015, could be on the move. However, the 21-year-old moved swiftly to clarify his position and feelings on social media- which may now put an end to the speculation.

If opportunities don't present themselves in the next few months, Martial's future could come under more scrutiny and the continued links to Manchester United signing Antoine Griezmann do not put the Frenchman in a promising position.

Martial has the ability to make an impression though and now needs to make his mark, as he did in the FA Cup victory over Wigan Athletic recently where he secured two assists.
