Former England manager Sam Allardyce announced this week that he was resigning his post at Crystal Palace and would not look for a way back into management.

The Englishman, who will forever be remembered for his 67-day spell as Three Lions boss which ended in disgrace, has developed a reputation as the one to turn to for top flight teams in trouble.

His decision to leave caused surprise among many, including his goal of the season winner, Andros Townsend, who tweeted simply "Wow" in response to the news.

The winger, who moved to south London from Newcastle, was a target for the Magpies boss Rafa Benitez in the January window, however, no deal materialised.

Now, after the upheaval of Allardyce leaving, the Toon Army have taken to Twitter in their droves to beg the England winger to make a return to St. James' Park after their return to the Premier League having won the Championship...
