Newcastle United fans could be set for a very enjoyable weekend, after it was revealed that Amanda Staveley has moved a step closer to buying the club from much-maligned owner Mike Ashley.

The Toon Army were elated when the news broke earlier in the week stating that Ashley was ready to sell the club. The vastly unpopular owner has been at the helm of the club since 2007, overseeing two untimely relegations and a real period of dissapointment at the club.

However, the nightmare for Newcastle fans looks to be nearly over, as businesswoman Amanda Staveley is now a few months away from taking over.

While the 44-year-old has yet to make a bid for the club, she has signed a non-disclosure agreement, meaning that Ashley can not share any information from his discussions with Staveley, to other prospective investors.

Upon hearing the news, Newcastle fans took to Twitter to express their delight...
