According to The Chronicle's chief sports writer Lee Ryder on Twitter, out-of-favour Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback was omitted from the official team photo on Thursday.

The Chronicle says that the midfielder has become an outcast under Rafa Benitez having turned down a move away from the club during the summer transfer window, with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Hull City among the teams interested in the 27-year-old.

Despite captaining the Under-23 side against Wolves on Monday night, it doesn't appear as though there is a way back into the first team reckoning for the former Sunderland man despite the Magpies currently being short at left-back because of an injury to Paul Dummett.

Newcastle supporters were quick to have their say on the update regarding the out-of-favour star via social media and while some simply said "Rafa is savage", others feel Colback "doesn’t deserve to be treated like crap".
