According to The Chronicle’s chief sports writer Lee Ryder on Twitter, out-of-favour Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback was omitted from the official team photo on Thursday.

The Chronicle says that the midfielder has become an outcast under Rafa Benitez having turned down a move away from the club during the summer transfer window, with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Hull City among the teams interested in the 27-year-old.
Despite captaining the Under-23 side against Wolves on Monday night, it doesn’t appear as though there is a way back into the first team reckoning for the former Sunderland man despite the Magpies currently being short at left-back because of an injury to Paul Dummett.
Newcastle supporters were quick to have their say on the update regarding the out-of-favour star via social media and while some simply said “Rafa is savage”, others feel Colback “doesn’t deserve to be treated like crap”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
That's a bit silly

Shame. He might not have set the world alight but he at least tried. Doesn’t deserve to treated like crap, even if he was poor.

I know that Jack Colback has had a fall out with the boss, but he can do a professional job if needed, Cant he?

Horrible to say it but he's not good enough and has been a liability. Can't fault his effort but hasn't got the minerals

Don't understand the bile towards Colback nor the manner in which he is being treated by Rafa. Always struck me as honest but limited. #NUFC
