According to Reuters, financier Amanda Staveley is ready to bid €400 (approximately £303.7m) for Newcastle United after Mike Ashley put the club for sale on Monday, as well as investing £150m over the next two seasons, and Magpies fans have been quick to have their say on her plans.

Ashley is looking for a quick deal after 10 years as the owner of the Tyneside outfit, but it remains to be seen whether a potential offer of just over £300m from Staveley will be accepted by the Sports Direct supremo.

The 44-year-old was linked with taking the reins at St James' Park after she was spotted in the crowd for the 1-1 draw against Liverpool earlier this month, and the club is certainly an attractive proposition considering their stadium, fan base and they fact that they currently sit ninth in the Premier League standings following their promotion from the Championship last season.

Newcastle supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the bid and the potential future investment, and while some said "get this done now", others "thought she would invest a lot more".
