Rolando Aarons is only 21, but the Newcastle United attacker has already had more than his fair share of injury problems.
After breaking into Newcastle’s first-team set-up during the 2014-15 Premier League season, the flying winger was tipped as a star of the future, and was reportedly attracting the attention of a number of major clubs.
Aarons, who was released from Bristol City in 2012 after three years with the club, went on to score once in 11 appearances for the Magpies during the 2015-16 campaign, but he missed almost the entirety of the club’s Championship-winning campaign last term after suffering an ACL injury.
The former England Under-20 international is now fit and firing, however, and he took to Twitter on Friday afternoon to reveal that he is ready to feature in the club’s pre-season clash with Bundesliga outfit Mainz 05 on Saturday afternoon.
There is no doubting the 21-year-old’s potential, and Newcastle fans are desperate for the Jamaican-born attacker to play a key role in the new campaign.
