The majority of Newcastle United fans have warmly welcomed back goalkeeper Tim Krul to the club.

The Dutchman has been part of the club for 12 years, but after recent injury woes, he drifted out of contention.

Last season, the 29-year-old went on loan to Ajax and then AZ to build up his fitness and earn more game time.

He has since returned to St James' Park, and will have to fight for a first-team place under manager Rafael Benitez.

Although, the shot-stopper may not be an option at all if recent reports are anything to go by.

The Chronicle claimed last week that Montpellier have taken an interest in Krul, who has one year remaining on his contract at Newcastle.

It seems, though, that he remains a favourite among the fans, and after he tweeted about his targets for the upcoming season, supporters urged Krul to stay and become number one again.
