Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to wish Vurnon Anita well after he sealed a move to Leeds United.
It was announced on Thursday evening that the 28-year-old was calling time on his five-year spell at St James’ Park.
The Dutchman joined Newcastle from Ajax in 2012 and went on to make more than 150 appearances for the club and score three goals.
Under Rafael Benitez last season, the defensive player, who can slot in at full-back or in midfield, made just 24 starts in the Championship.
It is not a huge surprise to see Anita move on from the North-East outfit, but he has left on a positive note, with most fans wishing him luck in the Championship at Elland Road.
All the best big vern. If only all players had your heart. Enjoy it at #lufc. Hopefully see you in the EPL next year!

Newcastle have brought in just two players so far in the summer window, spending just under £15m.
Christian Atsu has arrived from Chelsea on a permanent deal after spending last season on loan at St James’ Park, while Florian Lejeune has come in from Eibar.
