Leeds United fans have tried to goad their Newcastle United rivals by claiming that their Good Friday clash has only sold out at St James' Park because of the visitors.

The Magpies announced on Twitter that every ticket for the Championship meeting between the two clubs, which will kickoff at 7.45pm, has been sold.

It could prove to be a huge clash in three weeks' time as both clubs are in the hunt for Premier League promotion.

Newcastle are currently better placed than their rivals as they sit at the top of the league table, nine points ahead of Leeds, who reside fourth in the playoff spots.

Garry Monk's side have already shown that they can cause an upset when they recently overcame second-placed Brighton 2-0, but their last meeting with Newcastle ended in defeat.

Dwight Gayle scored either side of half-time to snatch all three points for Newcastle at Elland Road, but now the Whites have the chance to take revenge.

The rivalry between the sets of fans has already become apparent, with Leeds supporters claiming that the only reason the Magpies will fill their 52,405-capacity ground is because of who they will be up against.
