As reported by The Daily Mail, Barrie McKay's future at Rangers is in doubt after he was sent to train with the U20s side this week by manager Pedro Caixinha.

With just 12 months left on his contract at the Light Blues, the report says that he rejected a pay rise and a contract extension in February and with compromise in sight was told to train with the development squad on Monday.

He's not the first player to have been subjected to this treatment by Caixinha since he arrived at the club with the Portuguese not afraid to lay down the law with players he feels aren't showing full commitment to his goals and ambitions.

Barrie McKay has long has big potential at Ibrox and in glimpses has shown real ability in the Scottish Championship and Premiership. However, last season wasn't his best and since the turn of the year he's been inconsistent in a Light Blues shirt.

He's always been a popular figure with supporters but it appears that fans are ready to back their manager rather than the player in this scenario.
