Rangers legend Ally McCoist has offered a candid view on the debate surrounding a potential Director of Football role at Rangers, telling media outlets it’s “absolute nonsense” to suggest such a set-up is the way forward at Ibrox.
Ally McCoist says it's "absolute nonsense" to suggest a DoF is the way forward for Rangers. More on tonight's show.

Former @RangersFC boss Ally McCoist says it is "absolute garbage" and "nonsense" for anyone to think a dof will solve problems at club.

Rangers fans in the main have been open to such a set-up at the club, believing the Ibrox side badly need footballing expertise in the upper hierarchy of the club to help any potential first team coach with signings and footballing decisions.
Despite being one of the greatest players to grace the club, McCoist of course didn’t have the greatest of success at Ibrox as manager. Shepherding them through a critical time when they found themselves on the lowest rung of league football in Scotland, his reign at the club ended disastrously when Hearts romped to a Scottish Championship win at their expense in 2015.
Perhaps because of that, it appears his opinion on footballing matters at Rangers hasn’t gone down too well with supporters, many taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on his comments this afternoon…
@ClydeSSB Ally McCoist should stick to doing TV ads & game shows.

Ally McCoist does speak as a manager who went unbeaten in League 1 with a £7m player budget…so I think he knows what he's talking about.

I think Ally McCoist should stick to jokey adverts for betting firms rather than talking about something he has no clue about
