Rangers announced on Friday night that striker Kenny Miller had signed a new one-year deal with the Scottish giants.

The 37-year-old’s contract at Ibrox was due to run out at the end of the season but the club has decided to extend his stay for at least another campaign.

Miller has scored 12 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions for Rangers prior to their Old Firm derby against Scottish Premiership champions Celtic at Ibrox on Saturday and is continuing to make an impression despite his advancing years.

Pedro Caixinha’s team look set to secure a third-place finish in the top flight this season but they will have aspirations of challenging their arch-rivals for the title next term.

Rangers supporters were quick to have their say on the new contract via social media, with many believing it is deserved after an impressive goalscoring campaign for the veteran attacker.
