Rangers fans were delighted with Kenny Miller on Sunday

Rangers secured European football next season after a thrilling last-minute win over Partick Thistle on Sunday at Firhill.

Up against it for the vast majority of the 90 minutes, it took until the 83rd minute for the Gers to rally when Barrie McKay slotted home to cancel out Kris Doolan’s fine opener.

From that point on Pedro Caixinha’s men picked up their performance and put the Jags under significant pressure, eventually wearing them down deep, deep into stoppage time.

The unlikely hero was Joe Garner, who nodded home Kenny Miller’s wonderful run and cross to spark scenes of wild jubilation in the away end. There was even an impromptu pitch invasion!

While Garner got the goal, all the plaudits were won by Miller, a veteran who has given everything to the Rangers cause this season.

At 37 years of age, it was him in the dying embers of the game who showed the drive and commitment to make something happen for Caixinha’s men, showing he is worth the recent contract extension given to him.
