Rose not included in club calendar, Tottenham Hotspur fans react

Danny Rose caused quite the stir before the start of the season when he made some explosive claims about Tottenham Hotspur in an interview with the Sun.

The left-back criticised the club’s wage structure, questioned their ambition and hit out at their transfer activity.

After a backlash, Rose apologised via the Twitter page of his representatives Base Soccer Agency for the “ill-judged” comments.

The 27-year-old did not have to face the scrutiny head on as he has been on the sidelines since January with a knee injury.

Now that some time has passed, the heat has weakened, and the full-back is closing in on a return to action.

Rose, as well as long-term absentee Erik Lamela, trained with his teammates on Wednesday, and it will be interesting to see what reaction he gets when he makes his first appearance in a competitive game.

Rumours have been rumbling about the England international’s long-term future at Tottenham, and those were fuelled on Thursday when it emerged that Rose had not been included in the official calendar.

Some fans thought that the omission had a deeper meaning, while others pointed out that numerous first-team players have not made the cut.
