According to reports in The Sun, Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Hooper is a January transfer window target for Premier League trio Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion and Brighton and Hove Albion, and Owls fans have been quick to have their say on the rumour.

The Sun says that the £6m-rated centre-forward has caught the attentions of the top flight trio after scoring eight goals in 12 appearances in all competitions for the Championship outfit this season, including seven in his last seven and two in the 3-0 win against Leeds United at Hillsborough last time out.

Carlos Carvalhal's men will be aiming for automatic promotion this term after losing out in the play-offs last year, but they are currently 12th in the standings with top goalscorer Hooper's long-term future in doubt as his contract is due to run out in 2019.

Sheffield Wednesday supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the rumour, and while some said they "wouldn't take £16m" let alone £6m, others believe that the striker is "not irreplaceable".
