Sheffield Wednesday fans relieved to get back to winning ways

Sheffield Wednesday fans have had a frustrating few weeks after witnessing their team pick up just one win in their last six Championship fixtures.

Pressure was bubbling around head coach Carlos Carvalhal, but the criticism from fans has been put to one side for the time being due to a victory over Millwall.

The Owls had the perfect start at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening by going a goal in front inside three minutes.

Adam Reach was the man to get on the scoresheet, but his effort was cancelled out 10 minutes later by Tom Elliott.

In the end, it was Jordan Rhodes who came to the rescue as he scored what turned out to be the winner in the 43rd minute of the match.

After the final whistle blew, the overwhelming feeling among the Sheffield Wednesday fans was one of relief.

The Owls are currently 14th in the league table, three points adrift of the playoff places.
