Southampton fans are baffled by the decisions of Mauricio Pellegrino

Southampton slipped to a late defeat away to Stoke City on Saturday, adding pressure to manager Mauricio Pellegrino after a fairly poor start to the English Premier League season.

Peter Crouch was the hero for the Potters, scoring in the 85th minute with the score tied at 1-1. The 2-1 scoreline means that Saints have amassed just eight points from the first 21 available to them, winning just twice since the start of the season.

Southampton fans are now growing frustrated with Pellegrino for perceived tactical errors and team selection problems, some even suggesting he is being too stubborn in not changing his ways.

Of course it’s far too early to entertain thoughts about his future as manager but worries are certainly starting to creep into Saints’ fan’s thinking, especially when taking a long-term view.
