Brighton and Hove Albion completed the addition of free agent defender Vegard Forren on Tuesday night, and it was a transfer that raised more than a few eyebrows along the south coast at Southampton.
Saints signed the Norwegian centre-back from Molde for £4m back in January 2013, and being a seasoned international, big things were expected of him.
However, after failing to make a single first-team appearance for the club having failed to impress new boss Mauricio Pochettino, he was released by the south coast outfit that summer with fans barely getting a glance of the player.
It is fair to say that he is seen as something as a flop by supporters of the south coast outfit, and they were quick to have their say on social media following the news that he had linked up with the Championship high-flyers, with the majority reacting with sarcasm and being less than complimentary about the 29-year-old.

The greatest trick Vegard Forren ever pulled, was convincing the world he's a professional footballer. https://t.co/C6hfAoWaz8

Brighton supporters will certainly be hoping that they see more of Forren on the pitch than their south coast rivals ever did.
