Southampton have announced that midfielder Harrison Reed has joined Norwich on a season-long loan in the Championship.

The 22-year-old, who has impressed in flashes since making his first team debut in 2013, however has found it hard to get game time with the Saints having such a wealth of centre-mid options.

Even after the departure of Victor Wanyama last season, when there may have been hope of more chances for Reed, the improvement from both Oriol Romeu and James Ward-Prowse, alongside the continued form of Steven Davis, made them regulars under Claude Puel.

While there has only been one incoming deal at St. Mary's so far, the signing of Lech Poznan defender Jan Bednarek, Reed is the third departure after Jason McCarthy and Jay Rodriguez.

The Saints fans clearly think a lot of Reed, and are wishing him the best for his season with the Canaries...
