Southampton had to settle for a point away from home at Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday after Glenn Murray cancelled out Steven Davis’ early opener.
It’s Saints’ fourth draw of the English Premier League season so far with Mauricio Pellegrino’s pragmatism helping them win points but also perhaps costing them the chance to pick up all three points on occasion. His side have won just one game in five league matches and they’ve failed to win a match by more than a single clear goal.
Despite being in the top half of the table after 10 matches, the dropped points mean Southampton fans are rapidly growing impatient with Pellegrino, with some even calling for him to get the sack already.
Supporters believe their side are more talented than settling for points against mid-table outfits and want to see their manager show more ambition and go for the three points every week.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts after Sunday’s draw…
Once again Pellegrino has cost us points. 10 men behind the ball after 10 minutes is shocking. Brighton grew in confidence #saintsfc

Im always for giving managers a chance but please can we sack Pellegrino now? This is going exactly the same as the Puel era #saintsfc

Pretty woeful start to the season, given our opening ten fixtures. Pellegrino looks totally out of his depth, and it’s concerning. #saintsfc

#Saintsfc Puel laughing his socks off at Saints today. He’s now a giant compared to tactical dumbcluck Pellegrino.

Pellegrino seemingly doesn’t know how to utilise his squad, things need to change sharpish #SaintsFC

Pellegrino is like that annoying substitute teacher that thinks the class like him more than they actually do.👨🏫 #saintsfc

Such a lack of ambition. In all honesty if Pellegrino was sacked tomorrow I would be indifferent. BHA were poor. #saintsfc

10 PL games under Pellegrino, we lack intensity, shape, direction and passion. Puel was dull but atleast he had a plan #SaintsFC
